Job Banks
National
Diversity Journalism Job Bank. Sponsored by the Florida
Times-Union, this site claims to be "the nation's most
comprehensive list of journalism openings on the Internet."
Available to anyone, it aims for participation by minorities
and women, and specifically focuses on openings at newspapers.
Media
Professional. An informative monthly ezine from the
Young Media Professionals Committee of the Audit Bureau
of Circulations. They have compiled all the job resources
from their archives into one document. Send a request for
the "jobs compilation" to MediaProfl@accessabc.com.
Contents include Job Hunt Guides, Resource Directories,
General Job Banks and Media-Focused Resources. An excellent
resource. You can subscribe to the monthly ezine at the
same address.
JobLink
from AJR/NewsLink. Search job listings from a detailed
set of criteria including: Category (traditional media,
online media, academic); Medium (newspapers, broadcasting,
advertising, etc.); Experience Level; Specialty (reporter/writer,
editor/manager, researcher, photojournalist, etc.); and
Region (within US and "outside US").
Journalism
Jobs. Inclues an archive of J-JOBS, a weekly digest
of journalism job postings on the Internet. The source for
these job postings are journalism related newsgroups and
discussion lists as well as postings sent by media organizations.
Listings include both permanent and freelance opportunities.
The
Write Jobs. Job Listings from Writers Write(tm) for
staff writers, journalists, editors, technical writers,
etc. Other writer-specific resources at this site include
how to submit to publications via e-mail.
Reuters
Media World Employment Office. The site requires registration,
but it's free. The "employment office" links to
job resources at AdWeek, Ad Age, Media Central, Rep Temps,
Inc. and Reuters. You may find a few journalists' positions
sprinkled throughout these resources which primarily list
marketing and advertising jobs.
Newspaper
Jobs Page. From the Detroit Free Press; select "journalism
job banks" to find resources categorized by listing
services, professional associations, communications companies
and university sources. Also see the Knight Ridder openings.

sites. Look for news organizations or publications that you
can contact directly. Many post employment opportunities on
