Tusa Consulting Services Announces the Addition of Mr. Leven W. Magruder to its Consulting and Business Development Staff
Covington, LA - Jan. 20, 2009 (INB) -- Tusa Consulting Services II, LLC
(TCS), a designer of public safety radio systems, today announced the
addition of Mr. Leven W. Magruder to its consulting and business development
staff. A Law Enforcement graduate of Louisiana State University, coupled
with twenty-year career in statewide law enforcement, Mr. Magruder brings a
grounded understanding of real world solutions to our public safety radio
clients. While serving the Louisiana State Police (LSP) in the late 1970s
and early 1980s, Mr. Magruder was responsible for the maintenance and
enhancement of its VHF low band radio communications system. Later,
Magruder served as LSP's project manager for research, planning, specifying,
contracting and construction of the nation's first statewide 800 MHz public
safety trunked radio system.
From 1987 through 1993, Leven was employed by Motorola and served project
manager roles for 800MHz simulcast systems deployed in San Antonio, Texas;
the State of Florida's Phase 1; the Motorola nationwide EMBARC paging system
and, lastly, the City of Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach, Florida's simulcast
trunked radio network. Leven's next career step took him to the State of
Florida's Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Law
Enforcement where he was again responsible for the expansion and operation
of departmental radio communication systems.
For the past ten years, Mr. Magruder served as the 800MHz Radio
Communications Manager for the City of Tallahassee, Florida. There he was
responsible for management and operational aspects of the City's 26-channel,
six-site simulcast radio system. Ultimately, he was tasked with the
modernization and site expansion of this analog system to APCO Project-25
digital technology.
Mr. Magruder will remain in the Tallahassee area where he supports our
Tampa-based TCS partner, Peter Allan. He will be responsible for the firm's
federal, state, county and municipal project development throughout the
states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
About Tusa Consulting
Tusa Consulting was founded by Dominic (Nick) Tusa in 1991. At that time,
Tusa provided contract radio engineering services for professional
consulting firms such as Moses Engineers (New Orleans); RCC Consultants
(Woodbridge, NJ) and Dorsey-Pages, LLC. Additionally, Tusa independently
undertook microwave and radio communications projects for Exxon Company,
USA; the City of Kansas City, Missouri and others.
By 2002, Tusa had begun its transition from providing technical services to
other consulting firms and focused on developing a wholly-independent
private practice. By late 2004, Tusa had initiated its plan for structured
expansion through equity partnerships and had selected its first partner,
Gilbert Stock. Coincident with Stock's addition, the firm's official name
was changed to Tusa Consulting Services II, LLC (or TCS). In June 2006, the
partnership expanded to three with the addition of J. Dean Hart. Peter
Allan, our fourth partner, joined the firm in October 2006.
Today, TCS has consultants located in Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri,
Florida, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Our vision is to be recognized as the
best in the nation at designing and providing implementation oversight of
life-critical, hardened radio networks. Every step we take, whether in the
expansion of our firm into other states, the addition of consultant
personnel or through the development of new customer services, is geared
toward providing only the highest quality response, care and attention to
clients.
