European Pressphoto Agency Introduces "Flexpress" With Free Delivery of Global Images to Newspapers and Websites
Frankfurt, Germany - Sept. 4, 2008 (INB) -- The European Pressphoto Agency
(EPA) has announced the rollout of "Flexpress", a global News, Sports and
Entertainment image service designed to address the expanding creative needs
and budget realities of print and web breaking news providers in North
America. "Flexpress" delivers the entire EPA daily image feed for free,
with no setup or monthly subscription costs to clients. Images are licensed
on a "per use" basis at very competitive rates and all usage is
automatically tracked for clients by epa.
"European Pressphoto Agency is recognized as one of the top global sources
for outstanding editorial imagery," says Rick Wysocki, EPA's Director of
North American Sales and Marketing. "We wanted to develop a model that
directly addressed the business climate faced by US newspapers, news
magazines and news-focused websites. While photo subscription budgets are
under increasing pressure, clients still face the challenge of needing
access to the very best in global News, Sports and Entertainment imagery.
We believe "Flexpress" provides an ideal solution."
Unlike most "a la carte" image licensing models that require searching and
downloading from external sites, EPA's "Flexpress" service is sent directly
to each client via FTP. Included along with the daily picture feed are
additional offerings like Picture Galleries, Photo Stories and Picture of
the Day, plus "Flashfeatures", EPA's new multimedia product introduced
during the Beijing Olympics.
"Our photographers are well known for their ability to always provide a
unique visual perspective with their News, Sports and Entertainment imagery,
and our upcoming coverage of the US elections will be no exception," says
Andrea de Santis, Director of Marketing and Product Development, EPA
Frankfurt. "We think this is a perfect time for clients to start accessing
our award-winning pictures with a service designed specifically to meet
their needs."
ABOUT EPA: The European Pressphoto Agency (www.epa.eu) was founded in 1985
by seven major Western European news agencies. EPA went global in 2003 and
today's service is based both on the broad network of award-winning EPA
staff photographers around the world and the daily production of the current
eleven member agencies, all leaders in their respective countries. The
service is managed around the clock from EPA's editorial headquarters in
Frankfurt, Germany.
EPA photo coverage has always been based on integrity, independence and
responsibility and its creative strength is in covering global events from a
unique visual perspective. The average output is between 800 and 1000
pictures per day covering news, politics, sports, business and finance as
well as entertainment, culture and the arts.
