Pleasant Holidays Hits the Internet

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA -- May 7, 1997 (INB) -- Pleasant Holidays, the largest travel company serving Hawaii and Mexico, is now online at Pleasant.Net. Five web sites provide information: Pleasant Holidays (http://www.pleasant.net), Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays (http://www.2Hawaii.com), Pleasant Mexico Holidays (http://www.2Mexico.com), Vacation Acceptance Company (http://www.VAC-Card.com) and Pleasant Groups (http://www.Pleasant.Net/Groups).

The Pleasant sites feature nearly 100 hotels on six islands in Hawaii and about 70 properties at seven beach destinations in Mexico presented in dynamic web pages. Prior to visiting their travel agent, individuals can use Pleasant's site to review accommodations, hotel locations, and preview area maps and other detailed destination information to help customize their itineraries. A user can simply call up the desired destination and hotel of their choice to receive a land-only price, which can serve as a guide to overall holiday pricing.

The Hawaii pages also detail the company's Makua Club (seniors), fly/drive options, rental cars, Pleasant Protection Plan, and a special Hawaii trip giveaway.

Advertised specials for both Hawaii and Mexico with departures from Los Angeles and San Francisco are highlighted, as is Pleasant's Preferred Hawaii Resort of the Month. Pleasant's low-cost nationwide airfare add-ons are also on the site or they can be obtained through any travel agency.

Destination maps that display activities, beaches, shopping, restaurants, sightseeing, and other visitor information also appear on Pleasant's site. A user can obtain details as specific as a dinner menu for a restaurant near the selected hotel.

Both the Hawaii and Mexico sites offer a sweepstakes for a free trip for two to Hawaii. When providing online sweepstakes entry information, the user automatically becomes a member of the new Pleasant Holiday Club. The membership is free and Pleasant will periodically send Club members the latest information on Hawaii and Mexico specials via e-mail, directing prospective consumers to their local travel agency to complete their reservations.

A www.PleasantClub.com web site will be available for the Pleasant Club members in the near future. The site will feature Hawaiitoday.com online magazine as well as chat rooms for people interested in issues about Hawaii and Mexico travel.

A database that includes some 30,000 travel agencies nationwide allows visitors to the site to call up names, addresses, and telephone numbers of nearby agencies to assist them in finalizing their travel plans with Pleasant. The search for the closest agency is initiated in a number of ways, i.e., inputting either a travel agency name, telephone area code and prefix, or a postal zip code. Another function being added is a mapping service that will provide detailed street maps to assist consumers in locating the nearest travel agency.

The Vacation Acceptance Company also has a web location for individuals who want to finance their vacation to Hawaii or Mexico through Pleasant. An online application form is available for pre-approval of vacation financing that allows for a deposit of only 20% with no further payments or interest until travel begins, with 18 months after travel to complete payment. The deposit is waived for any subsequent travel with Pleasant as long as the account is current.

The Pleasant Groups site promotes current special interest packages developed by the travel company. These holidays most often surround specific events and/or activities in Hawaii, such as major sporting events, holiday celebrations, whale watching, and festivals.
